A truly spectacular early thirties silk chiffon evening coat that is shockingly warm. The exterior of the coat is a stunning black silk chiffon with a silvery grey and black cut velvet floral pattern applied. The velvet has a bit of a metallic feel to it and catches the light wonderfully. It has an attached big tie detail at the neck and other then that is just a cocoon style, throw on over anything wrap type piece. It is fully lined in taupe silk and the lining is in excellent condition. The hem has hidden weights to keep it in place and there is a layer of felt between the interior and exterior so its actually quite warm. It feel incredible to wear - really like layers of silk and coziness but looks so elegant and chic! This had to have been a high end piece in its day and its a tragedy that there is no label. It is in excellent condition and really a special piece you will treasure!
