This is a wonderful 1960s maxi dress by Miss Elliot and it is hard not to love such a strong statement piece. It is certainly one of the most dramatic dresses I have seen and yet it still has a soft and sexy element to it. It is done in a beautiful deep burgundy chiffon. The standout element is of course the sleeves - each is a ends in a long and dramatic circle of fabric that flows almost to the ground giving the dress a ethereal feel. They are each a full 30" in length and trail down the sides. The way they move and flow when you move while wearing the dress is just incredible. The skirt flows to the ground in a swath of chiffon that ends in a ruffle - the perfect balance to the sleeves. I love the high cowled neck - the full coverage through the body really just highlight those sleeves. The contrast between the color and the beautiful cut mixed with the volume of the sleeves is incredible. Excellent condition. The bodice and skirt are fully lined in a matching silky rayon and the sleeves are left unlined. It closes at the back with a painted metal zipper.
